Giving Back For The Holidays

Some of you may know that I have a huge nonprofit heart. Even in my current for profit business, I am looking to give back to women through my Happy and Healthy Mompreneur Fund. I am also a volunteer nonprofit consultant for FANO, the Florida Association of Nonprofit Organizations. I was a co-founder and Executive Director of a 501 (c) (3) organization that helped children in disadvantaged situations. Last year, my friend Shushana and I planned a free holiday street festival complete with free toys from Toys For Tots in the Overtown area of Miami, FL, which is a community where most children live in poverty. I moved on to FANO so that I could use my over 10 years of nonprofit experience to help other nonprofits within Florida to achieve their missions. Though my direct service is mostly education, I am able to reach a much larger group through helping the nonprofits that serve them. It is holiday time again, and I was trying to decide how best I might help those in need. I came up with a few areas:

1.) I created a ning network just for Florida nonprofits called the Florida Nonprofit Network. I am allowing all registered Florida nonprofits to post events and requests for donations on this network. So if you know a Florida nonprofit, send them my way.

2.) Remember Sandra, the creator of the Room to Grow 4 in 1 play yard, that I interviewed for my mompreneur 10 piece? Well, for every 3 that are sold using my code HL on her website, we can donate one of those play yards to a daycare, hospital, school. child-serving nonprofit, or disaster area. Plus, the code will give you $20 off and includes free shipping.

3.) I am allowing any pregnancy/ post-partum related 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organizations to advertise on my main site for free.

Another company, Robeez www.robeez.com, is giving back too! Robeez will donate a pair of soft sole shoes to K.I.D.S. with every soft sole purchased through December 23rd and link to: http://www.robeez.com/EN-US/seasonofgiving.htm My favorite pair is the guitar pair. I just got rock band for my husband and my son has 2 guitar-themed outfits for the season.
