Welcome to our Review-a-thon Day 1! Today we will be reviewing One Natural Experience, aka O.N.E., makers of all natural coconut water products. I first learned about O.N.E. earlier this year as they became a sponsor of our Happy and Healthy Mom events. (This is not a sponsored post). Before they approached me, I had NEVER tried coconut water and easily confused coconut water with coconut milk.
If you are in South Florida or California, you might have seen their products on the shelves. They will be moving into a more national market, as they grow.
Through developing a relationship with this company, I learned a lot about coconut water and the benefits it can provide, especially as an alternative to soft drinks loaded with sugar. Unlike coconut milk, there is no fat in coconut water. It can also be very good for pregnant and new moms. It contains lauric acid, which is naturally found in breastmilk, and it can help you stay hydrated.
Some more benefits to breastfeeding moms (taken from their website): “Due to high concentrations of water in breast milk, nursing mothers require three additional 8oz servings of water per day. Drinking one 11oz O.N.E.™ Coconut Water has the same short-term hydration as drinking one full liter of water. However, drinking O.N.E.™ Coconut Water does not eliminate the need to drink regular water.”
When I was first exposed to O.N.E., I tried several different varieties of coconut water including water with a splash of Pink Guava, water with a splash of Passion Fruit, water with a splash of Pineapple, water with a splash of Mango, water with a splash of Acai, and the original coconut water. When I visit their website, I am seeing new flavors, such as Coffee Fruit and Cashew Fruit, as well as O.N.E. water, which I have never tried.
Of all of the flavors I have tried so far, the coconut water with a splash of passion fruit was by far my favorite. I tried the original coconut water first, and admittedly expected it to taste like a pina colada, but found it to be a mildly sweet and very hearty, with no real coconut flavoring. I tried the water with the pink guava next, and found it to be slightly sweeter but it is definitely only a “splash” of the fruit. The pineapple splash and the mango splash ones were reall nice, not too sweet, but just enough. The Acai one is definitely an acquired taste, as it is very strong and almost has a rotten berry type of flavor. The passion fruit one was simply sweet and completely addictive. I honestly admit that I really hated passion fruit juice in general prior to trying this coconut water. I think I liked it so much because it was just a splash, and not overwhelming. Although I do not see this flavor on their main website anymore, you can still find it on Amazon. Overall, I would love to continue drinking their coconut water with passion fruit juice, so I hope they decide to continue making it.
Nationwide, you can buy O.N.E. online on Amazon. If you are looking for it in stores, you will find it in South Florida and California in stores like Publix & CVS, though they are expanding nationally as it is distributed (not manufactured) by Pepsi. It is usually available in individual servings for about $1.50 each. More information can be found on their website: onenaturalexperience.com
They even have a form that you can print out and bring to your local store if you would like to see them carry O.N.E.
If you attended one of the Happy and Healthy Mom events & had a chance to try O.N.E., I invite you to write your own review of it in a comment below. If you are here for the review-a-thon, please leave your comment as well.
