Becoming a parent means planning ahead and preparing for just about anything. Have you ever noticed one of the first things parents put on their baby registry is a diaper bag? That’s because it’s one of the essential items for traveling with little ones.

I recently thought about transitioning from my diaper bag to a purse, but when I saw the EBBY Diaper/Carry-All Satchel ($69.99 RSP) on JustFab, I knew this would be something to consider.

Although the EBBY Diaper/Carry-All Satchel is available in two colors, black and taupe, I went with the lighter one. Since I live in warm climate, I always go with light or bright colors to help reduce the amount of heat I attract.

Packing Your Diaper Bag

The EBBY Diaper/Carry-All Satchel has a simple design, but is very functional. It has multiple exterior and interior pockets and is built to last.

What I love most about the EBBY Diaper/Carry-All Satchel is the ability to carry necessary items with me wherever we go. Whether it’s to a local park for a family picnic or off to a blogger’s event, I feel confident that I can have everything I need with me at all times. I’ve even carried my laptop with me!

So, what exactly do I carry in my EBBY Diaper/Carry-All Satchel now that I have extra room?

Here’s a list of 8 essential items I take with me at all times:

  1. Changing pad.
Because you just never know when our 10-month-old son might decide to have a blowout during on of our family outings. The EBBY Diaper/Carry-All Satchel already comes with one that’s easy to wipe down and stores well.
  2. Diapers.
I always carry three to four diapers. It really depends on how long we’ll be away. The rule of thumb is, a diaper per hour you’ll be away from home.
  3. Wipes.
Of course, if you’re bringing the kids, you’ll need to carry wipes with you. Wipes come in handy, not only for cleaning up blowouts, but for cleaning dirty faces and hands.
  4. Extra outfits.                                                                                                                                                                   In case there is a blowout, diapers and wipes will only clean up the mess. They won’t be able to cover it up. Having an extra pair of pants or onesie can really make a difference.
  5. Water bottle.                                                                                                                                                              Living in warm temperatures means you always need to be hydrated. I like to carry a bottle of water in case the boys get thirsty. It also helps curb my sweet tooth cravings.
  6. Snacks.
From fruits to fruit snacks, just about everything that will help calm the boys in case a tantrum should arise. You never want to be caught in one of those without backup.
  7. Blanket.                                                                                                                                                                      Having a blanket at hand can help cover you up while breastfeeding your little one or create a comfortable environment for when your little decides to take a nap.
  8. First Aid Kit.
Although it’s rare your baby will need a bandaid, you should still carry them in case someone you know will need it. I also have allergy medicine with me at all times, and it’s come in handy for my husband who is allergic to almost everything.

What would you carry in your diaper bag if you had more space?
