Welcome to Day #5 of our review-a-thon. You are getting a two-fer today due to some technical difficulties yesterday. On Day #3, we reviewed the Baby K’Tan Sling and today we are reviewing the new Infantino Balance Ergonomic Carrier, to allow you to comparison shop.

What I Liked:

  • It felt very stable.
  • The material felt strong and well sewn together, so you can go hands-free without worry.
  • The inner lining was soft, unlike some other carriers.
  • It cradles the baby close to you.
  • It helps balance the weight of the baby.
  • It comes with this cool bib thing to protect your clothes while holding the baby.
  • There are bibs with different patterns so you can customize and coordinate.
  • It has this pocket on the front so you can stash some items like money, license, etc. when you don’t want to carry a purse.
  • Their website has a guide for finding the right carrier for you, as well as the benefits of babywearing.

Comments, Suggestions and Recommendations

  • The baby can only face inward, so it is probably used best for smaller babies who are not active yet.
  • My son is already a year old, so the only position I can put him is the backpack. However, the backpack position requires two people to get the baby in and out of the carrier. This is really inconvenient for moms who don’t always have someone with them to help. One of the points of having a carrier is to help you become hands-free so that you can take care of other things. If you must use the backpack position, it is probably used best for family trips to places like amusement parks, the mall, the zoo, and the like.
  • Like most carriers, this one has straps, latches, and buckles that you have to manage.

Overall, I think it is a good carrier for those carrying around a young baby. It is almost like having a baby koala latched on and really comforts the baby. I wish I had this when my son was small. The one I was using was such a pain and would dig into my shoulders after awhile. It was exhausting to wear. This carrier has heavily padded straps to help prevent that from happening. For larger babies, you might consider a different carrier even though this one says it can be used for babies 8- 35 pounds. Infantino has several carriers to chose from, so you can pick one that works best for you.

Buy It

You can get it on sale at Amazon for just $49.99 + Free shipping.

It normally retails for $59.99 and you can find it in stores like Babies R Us, Kmart, Target, & more.

I was not monetarily compensated for this review. Though I did receive a sample for reviewal purposes, this in no way affected my review.

I wonder why they would not make this carrier so you can face the baby outward. I don’t think I would but it for that reason. But I do LOVE the pocket in front!! That is a major + if you are looking for just a body facing carrier.
